Picture: WAYNE TURNER [extract] THE weather bureau has made a bold prediction on Top End weather for the next week – it could rain. [extract] Senior forecaster Chris Davies yesterday said Darwin was in the second day of a transition period, and that regular storms would return from this afternoon. [extract] “Darwin weather is just swinging around now,” he said. “There has been a shot of moist air come up from the Gulf (of Carpentaria), so there will be a lot of inland storms, with a lot making it to the city,” he said. [extract] As far as the monsoon goes, Mr Davies said the Top End was still in a break, adding: “It’s recharging, but it doesn’t look like it will be back this week.” […
